To empower them to participate in their communities & live their best lives.  Empowered Services desired outcome is building a team of responsible, caring, and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSP's).  As an Empowered Services DSP, you will be building life skills and creating opportunities with our unique group of customers and families. Your goal will be to develop meaningful relationships that build confidence & independence and passionately help those with intellectual & developmental disabilities to live a more fulfilled and happy life Working one-on-one with each customer you serve will allow you to assess his/her needs, desired outcomes, and tend to them accordingly with the goal of fostering a positive, encouraging, and safe environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:


Must have 1 or more years of experience in a customer service role and prefer to have 1 or more years of experience in frequent communication and interaction with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.  Must follow and comply with company policies/procedures and the Oregon OAR’s.  Must pass a background check, be 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent, have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record, obtain full coverage car insurance, and have a good running vehicle.  
Roles & Responsibilities:  

  1. BE A PERSONAL COMPANION TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND ACT AS A SUPPORTIVE FRIEND SERVING THEIR NEEDS AND WORKING IN SHOWING EMPOWERED SERVICES VISION AND VALUES WITH INTEGRITY. ENCOURAGE & FOSTER INDIVIDUALS' PREFERRED HOBBIES, INTERESTS & COMMUNITY CONNECTIONSASSIST WITH AND WORK TO STRENGTHEN THE INDIVIDUALS' MANY DAILY LIVING NEEDS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: NUTRITION, HYGIENE, EXERCISE, COMMUNICATION, SOCIAL SKILLS, AND HOUSEHOLD CHORES.  HELP INDIVIDUALS IN DAILY LIVING, BEHAVIORAL SUPPORTS, MOBILITY & TRANSPORTATION,AND ALWAYS WORKING TO IMPROVE SELF-RELIANCE AND CONFIDENCECREATE DAILY SCHEDULES AND PLANS FOR EXCITING ADVENTURES & EVENTS TO BUILD THEIR INDEPENDENCE.
  2. HELP YOUR CUSTOMER TO MEET THEIR GOALS & DESIRED OUTCOMESTRACK YOUR CUSTOMER'S PROGRESS AND REPORT FEEDBACK TO ADMIN STAFF. WHEN NECESSARY, REPORT INCIDENTS TO ADMIN STAFF WITHIN 24 HOURS ENCOURAGE INDIVIDUAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND WORK TOWARDS COMMUNITY INTEGRATION. DRIVE CUSTOMERS TO OUTINGS, APPOINTMENTS, MEETINGS, AND EVENTS, ETC. 
  3. DEVELOP MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS AND CONNECTIONS WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS. HELP THEM EMBRACE THAT THEY HAVE A VOICE, ARE VALUED, CARED FOR, AND INCLUDED IN THE COMMUNITY.  FOLLOW ALL HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS AND ENSURE YOUR CUSTOMER'S HEALTH AND SAFETY ARE MAINTAINED. ISSUE OR ASSIST WITH MEDICATIONS OR MEDICAL ISSUES WHEN NEEDED. COMPLETE THE REQUIRED 24 HOURS OF YEARLY TRAINING AND GET FURTHER CERTIFIED AS THE JOB REQUIRES.
  4. BE A COMPASSIONATE, PATIENT, AND N ENCOURAGING SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL TIMESYOU ARE CAREGIVER, CHEERLEADER, AND ADVOCATE ROLLED INTO ONE. THE WORK THAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH WILL CHANGE THE LIVES OF MANY FOR THE BETTER.
