Davis Behavioral Health, Inc., the mental health and substance abuse provider for Davis County, Utah, is seeking a full-time Controller to work in its Finance Department.

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following essential functions:

  • Supervise and manage the operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting.
  • Perform professional accounting and auditing functions related to financial operations, payroll, pension, cash management, budget, internal control functions.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct ongoing quality control audits to assure fiscal responsibility and accountability.
  • Oversee monthly and year-end close.
  • Produce periodic financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in preparation of audits and other external reporting.
  • Perform Ad-Hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Establish and maintains internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Classification and Employment Schedule

This position is classified as full-time, exempt. The selected applicant will be required to Monday through Friday during regular business hours. DBH reserves the right to require work outside of the regular schedule, weekend work, and/or assignment to evening or night shifts, depending upon operational need, some in and out of state travel may be required.

Compensation

The approved annual compensation for this position is $85,000 to $105,000 based on directly related experience.

Required Experience

Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting is required.

Professional Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or tax/audit.
  • MBA and or CPA preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal support skills.
  • Accurate, efficient and organized
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees

DBH Criminal Background Check & Drug Screening Disclaimer

Davis Behavioral Health is a drug-free workplace and requires all employees to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.

Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.

Further, all employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as part of DBH's licensing agreement with the State of Utah. Failure to pass either screening will result in the termination of any job offer submitted and/or employment for any individual who has started employment while the criminal background screening is in process. Pending and/or open charges will likely impact a candidate's ability to pass the pre-employment criminal background screening.
