Job Description:

NS2 Mission is seeking a Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA. The Systems Engineer will provide comprehensive definition of all aspects of system development from analysis of missing needs to verification of system performance and translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Successful candidates will work well under pressure and have the ability to work within aggressive timelines on capabilities and technologies with a wide range of maturity levels (TRL 2 – 8). Primary duties include critical contributions to: technical planning, systems integration, documentation, system performance modeling, verification and validation, cost and risk estimation, evaluation of system supportability and effectiveness. This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or related discipline and 2+ years of experience with software, computer architectures, or software architectures –OR– M.S in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or related discipline and experience with software, computer architectures, or software architectures.

  • Experience using Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as MagicDraw and Cameo
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience engineering using Agile methodologies
  • Must be able to work with software developers to assist in developing and presenting technical information
  • Provide team leadership and influence application vision
  • Support development teams in updating, and consistently maintaining the Contract Data Requirements list
  • Experience in reviewing, revising, and recommending changes to key architecture products
  • Work with various stakeholders to ensure system compatibility and operability
  • Tracking program level risks and action items
  • Experience working with and creation of DoDAF artifacts

Desired Qualifications:

  • Leading in specific trade and root cause analysis studies that drive system development
  • Experience with continuous integration, build management, and automated test framework
  • Experience with AWS EC2 or similar cloud services platform
  • Experience with big data processing, data analytics, advanced visualization, and cloud technology
  • Experience merging agile development methodologies with traditional DoD/USAF documentation, reporting, and requirements management
  • Experience with Web Services development (REST, SOAP) in Java / JavaScript
