Position Summary:

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Associate will assist in development, implementation, and supporting related services and solutions for consulting clients. This position will participate in building customer-focused relationship with clients to identify business challenges and develop specifications and requirements to arrive at the best solution.

Roles and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:

  • Work as a member of the HBS Cloud Architecture Team (CAT) as a contributor that provides consultative and proactive project support to Heartland Business Systems’ (HBS) account base.
  • Obtain knowledge on a variety of technologies and platforms as directed by your leader and customer demand.
  • Provide support, maintenance, and administration for customer environments.
  • Contribute to, when possible, the process to assess, develop, implement, optimize, and document security technologies and processes, data protection, cryptography, key management, identity, and access management (IAM) within SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud environments.
  • Cross-Education / Mentoring of other Heartland Interns, Engineers, and related personnel.

Required Skills, Education and/ or Certifications:

  • Enrolled in a university majoring in an IT-related field.
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA.

  • At least 3 months of industry experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure solutions:
  • Azure AD (AAD / Entra ID), including Azure AD Connect (AADC), SAML SSO and OpenID Connect (OIDC), Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR), Password Protection, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
  • Virtual Machines and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
  • Networking and DNS, including Network Security Groups (NSGs), VPN Gateways, Traffic Managers, Load Balancers, Private Link, and ExpressRoute.
  • Storage
  • Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery
  • Pricing & Cost Management
  • Experience implementing and designing systems-based solutions with a focus on the cloud.
  • IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Experience installing and supporting Microsoft enterprise products.
  • PowerShell, Python, or other scripting and development background.
  • Familiarity or experience with Linux.
  • Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
