We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our client's team as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal. This hybrid role will provide essential support to attorneys in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal assistance and paralegal duties, with a focus on litigation.Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
- Coordinate and manage case files, ensuring all documents are organized and up-to-date.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case preparation.
- Prepare and file legal documents with state and federal courts, adhering to all deadlines and requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Schedule meetings, hearings, and depositions, and maintain attorney calendars.
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating witnesses.
- Provide administrative support, such as answering phones, managing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Paralegal certification or relevant coursework preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role, with a focus on litigation.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- Knowledge of Florida court procedures and e-filing systems preferred.
