Job Title: CT Scan Technologist CWR
Location: Hackensack, NJ

Hours Per Week: 40 hours

Hours Per Day: 8 hours

Days Per Week: 5 days

Schedule Notes:

  • 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • This day shift position includes 5 - 8-hour shifts, Monday - Friday, and every third weekend.
  • Applicants with immediate availability to start will be heavily considered.
  • Must be willing to cover 1 weekend of on-call obligations if needed.
Job Summary:

The CT Scan Technologist performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques to produce sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation. The role involves assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures, managing patient care, and ensuring accurate and effective imaging processes.

Duties:
  • Perform Complex CT Procedures: Conduct advanced CT scans and ensure high-quality imaging results.
  • Patient History and Documentation: Use professional judgment to review and obtain patient clinical history, documenting and scanning information into PACS and EPIC systems.
  • Contrast Media Management: Prepare, screen, and review contrast questionnaires; administer contrast media as prescribed.
  • Prescription Verification: Review patient prescriptions for appropriateness, communicating with Radiologists and Referring Physicians as needed.
  • Insurance and Outside Studies: Verify insurance authorizations, send modification forms to Finance, and manage outside studies by scheduling and uploading them into EPIC and PACS.
  • Patient Interaction: Provide exam copies to patients and their physicians, and ensure all imaging is accurate and of diagnostic value.
  • Patient Preparation: Prep patients for scanning, including shielding and using immobilization devices, and administer appropriate contrast doses.
  • Patient Safety and Monitoring: Monitor patient conditions during procedures, perform venipuncture, and address any patient questions or concerns.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Adhere to policies regarding attendance, punctuality, and standards of behavior; handle on-call and overtime assignments as needed.
  • Physical Demands: Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push/pull up to 50 lbs., and stand for at least 6 hours per day.
  • Adaptation to Patient Needs: Modify care based on the patient’s age, culture, language, and other needs.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning.
  • Understanding of CT software and hardware.
  • Proficiency with PACS system.
  • Maintains CEU credits.
  • ARRT (CT) certification required within twelve months of hire.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within three months of hire.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Six months of CT experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Epic and any HIS/RIS system preferred.
Education:
  • Required Education: Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program; High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred Education: N/A
Certifications & Licensure:
  • Required Certifications & Licensure: NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License; ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license; BLS - AHA certification.
  • Preferred Certifications & Licensure: ARRT Certified R.T. (CT) license.

  • English (Speak, Read, Write)
Minimum Degree Required:
