Requirements:

What you’ll do

We’re rebuilding Collective Goods core technology from the ground up to allow the company to scale effectively with its rapidly growing product lines. This is a true greenfield opportunity to contribute to a backend that will set the company up for success into the future.


Backend Development and Architecture

· Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of Django application, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

· Contribute to architecture of backend solutions, including database schema design, RESTful API development, and integration with third-party services.

· Implement best practices for code structure, security, and optimization to maintain a high-quality codebase.


Collaboration

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and designers, to define requirements and prioritize features.


Code Quality and Testing

· Implement automated testing strategies, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests, to ensure the reliability and stability of backend systems.

· Conduct code reviews, identify potential issues or improvements, and collaborate with team members to address them in a timely manner.


Performance Optimization and Scalability

· Identify opportunities for performance optimization and scalability improvements in backend systems, implementing solutions to enhance system efficiency and responsiveness.

· Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.

Continuous Learning and Innovation

· Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in backend development, exploring new technologies and tools to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

· Contribute to the open-source community and share knowledge within the team through tech talks, workshops, and documentation.


Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

· Proven experience as a Senior Backend Engineer.

· Experience in Django development.

· Experience building scalable and maintainable web applications.

· Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, and ORM concepts.

· Familiarity with frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.


Preferred Qualifications

· Experience building configurable workflow engines.

· Experience with .NET.

· Have directly worked on integrating applications with CRM and/or ERP systems.

· Deep understanding of SQL stored procedures.
