Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for answering incoming insurance and billing phone calls
  • Collecting patient payments and setting up payment agreements if needed
  • Troubleshooting denied and pending claims and processing credits for assigned insurance companies
  • Working corresponding accounts as required, moving payments, and rebilling
  • Responsible for sending claims to secondary payers with a copy of the primary EOB
  • Researching and correcting all errors resulting from data entry and sending out corrected claims
  • Investigating credits and writing up refund requests for both patients and insurance companies
  • Working Task Manager to process claim denials, credits, and accounts receivables for assigned insurances
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • One year of customer service experience is required
  • One year of medical office and insurance experience is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance payers and medical terminology
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • The ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
