FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Date: April 2024
SUMMARY:
The X-Ray Technician is to use an X-Ray machine and relevant equipment and tools to take radiographic images of the various body parts of a patient as requested by the provider.
This position may have remote work requirements.
This position is subject to all current CMS vaccine mandates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verifying patients identity and reviewing physicians orders before beginning x-ray procedures.
- Using x-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients bones, tissues, and organs as per providers orders.
- Explaining x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions.
- Ensuring that the x-rays taken are of sound quality to prevent repeat procedures.
- Positioning patients, accordingly, which may include lifting and moving patients with limited mobility.
- Promptly notifying management of damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
- Sterilizes equipment and supplies.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional certification if applicable.
- Participates in all required Primary Health Care Centers, OSHA and Emergency Preparedness training
- Adheres to all HIPAA Rules and Regulations
- Treats staff, providers, visitors and patients with dignity and respect
- Participates in helping the provider meet all meaningful use criteria
- Participates and helps maintain a Patient Centered Medical home environment
- Performs all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Associate degree or Certificate in radiologic technology, radiology, or related field preferred
Proven experience working as an X-ray technician.
Two years experience in medical office desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Strong mathematical skills required.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid drivers license.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Ability to operate a computer, understand and utilize various software programs.
