As a Shop Hand in our oilfield services company, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repair, and organization of equipment and tools used in the oil and gas industry. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of our operations by providing support to our skilled technicians and mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Assist in inspecting, cleaning, and performing basic maintenance tasks on oilfield equipment, vehicles, and tools.
  • Check equipment for defects, wear, and tear, and report any issues to supervisors.

Tool Inventory and Organization:

  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, spare parts, and supplies.
  • Assist in tracking tools and equipment usage to ensure availability when needed.

Shop Cleanliness and Safety:

  • Keep the shop area clean and organized, ensuring a safe and hazard-free work environment.
  • Follow safety protocols and participate in safety meetings and training.

Assist Technicians and Mechanics:

  • Provide support to experienced technicians and mechanics in their repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Help with equipment assembly and disassembly as needed.

Documentation:

  • Maintain records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Assist in completing work orders and documentation as required.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all equipment and tools meet quality standards and are in compliance with regulations.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other shop hands, technicians, and mechanics to accomplish tasks efficiently.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a shop or maintenance environment is a plus.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning about oilfield equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to adhering to them.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Stamina to work in a shop environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require working in a shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment, often with exposure to noise, dust, and oilfield equipment.
