Lonestar Electric Supply and its subsidiaries are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our IT department. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of networking technologies with a focus on security and cloud solutions. This role requires expertise in Meraki network equipment, as well as a strong background in LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN systems. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our network infrastructure, ensuring robust and secure connectivity across the organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage networks using Meraki network equipment, including wireless, LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Configure and maintain VPN setups, utilizing PKI for secure wireless and VPN access.
  • Work extensively with Microsoft Azure, setting up VPN Gateways, managing Azure VNETs, and ensuring efficient network routing and connectivity.
  • Manage and optimize BGP implementations and other routing protocols to ensure efficient network operations.
  • Install, configure, and support network equipment including WAF, firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Ensure network security and compliance by implementing Network Access Control and maintaining high security standards across all network operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues while providing high-level technical support for network infrastructure.
  • Develop and document network configurations and operational procedures to ensure a reliable network environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and enhance network infrastructure according to organizational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, specifically with Meraki equipment.
  • Certification in Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is required.
  • Proven experience with VPN technologies, PKI implementations, and network security protocols.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, including VPN Gateways and Azure VNET.
  • Strong understanding of BGP, routing protocols, Network Access Control, WAF, firewalls, and other network security measures.
  • Proficient with both Microsoft and Linux-based networking environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various IT teams.
  • Additional certifications in network security or cloud services are a plus.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages to improve network efficiency and response times.

  • On call

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Required)

Work Location: In person.

Physical Requirements:
