We are looking for a dynamic Supply Chain Director to join our team.

Job Description

The Supply Chain Director's main responsibility is to lead a team that ensures that product is ordered in the appropriate quantities and at the appropriate time to fulfill customer orders and maintain optimized inventory levels. 

The main function of the position is to understand the future volume requirements as well as production constraints and to use these analyses to guide the Supply Chain team to release purchase orders. In conjunction with this, the Supply Chain Director will manage the open to buy budget along with assistance from the Supply Planning team. 

The Supply Chain Director collaborates managing vendors due date performance, product quality, and cost competitiveness. This position requires that the successful candidate possesses the ability to work cross-functionally with the Product Development, Sales, Information Technology, Finance, and Operations teams on various projects, process improvement, and company initiatives. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Supply Chain team
  • Responsible for the management of inventory
    • Global sourcing and procurement of products
    • Forecasting of inventory levels based on sales trends and incoming product
    • Calculation of and ongoing review of open-to-buy budget (OTB) and review with CFO for approval
    • Enforcement of open-to-buy budget by putting controls in place and reviewing open PO reports, receiving reports, re-order reports, and replenishment reports
  • Oversee the use of the Supply Chain Planning (SCP) software
  • Oversee shipments to ensure that goods depart our vendors’ factories by the requested ship date, ensure team is updating dates in ERP system in the event of delays or deviations from requested ship date
  • Participate in analysis of pricing as well as collect data and other information to calculate reasonable prices based on MOQs  
  • Work particularly closely with the Consumer Products, Commercial, and Product Development teams in order to manage product launches/initiatives and specific projects
  • Work with the Accounts Payable department to hand off invoices so that funds can be released to vendors
  • Study sales history and inventory levels to develop strategic purchasing plans that will result in higher inventory turns and/or improved line fill rates
  • Build a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased
  • Monitor changes affecting supply and demand and communicate with the Supply Planning team to adjust purchasing accordingly
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant 5-10 years of experience. 
  • Vendor management/negotiation experience a must.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to work proficiently with database applications.
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to set a vision and to lead change.
  • Superior analytical skills and good judgment.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in strategic and tactical analysis and planning.
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and self-directed.
  • Ability to recognize and interpret business issues/opportunities and recommend solutions through analysis.
  • Energetic, forward-thinking, and creative personality with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
