Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionRep Data is a post-Series A start-up in the market research industry looking for our next Director, People Success. This individual will lead and direct the People Success function including hiring, administering pay, benefits and leave, onboarding, performance management, forward planning and continuous improvement to achieve the team and company objectives. The Rep Data team is roughly ~70 strong, with ~50 employees in the United States (spread across 16 states), ~13 employees in South Africa, and about a dozen international contractors in other countries. This is an individual contributor role that will report to the CFO or CEO (to be determined). 

Location: There is a preference for this candidate to be in the New Orleans area (where HQ is and where several executive team members are hybrid) but the position is also open to remote candidates in the following states: CA, CT, GA, IL, LA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OR, SD, TX, UT, VA, WA. The position is open to US-based candidates who are currently authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
What you will do:
  • Partners with other leadership team members to fully understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy, including by not limited to, future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning as well as supporting stakeholders in settings goals and monitoring progress
  • Inspires, develops, and empowers a highly trained and effective team by:
    • Providing the resources and guidance to help the implementation and continued growth of a high performance workplace
    • Actively supporting the team, seeking to identify and remove barriers to high performance
  • Cultivates a fully empowered workforce capable of handling problems and making decisions while managing the day-to-day production and administration needs by setting and communicating the highest of expectations for all team members
  • Leverages technology to automate and streamline processes to administer pay and benefits while ensuring 100% payroll accuracy as well as competitive compensation and benefits packages resulting in an excellent employee experience
  • Completes annual budget for the People team and ensure that the department’s costs align with the approved budget each month
  • Serves as a support resource through actively engaging team members, earning and maintaining their trust, resulting in continuous growth and improvement as well as high employee satisfaction and retention rates
  • Maintains 100% compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements ensuring audits are completed on time without deficiencies and resulting in sufficient time and resources to focus on value-adding initiatives
  • Maintains and leverages in-depth knowledge of trends and best practices, to continuously add value

What you bring:Required experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources field or equivalent
  • Five or more years of related experience leading a People function at a growing remote/hybrid startup
  • Personal core values that fully align with Rep Data’s core values 
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and conflict management skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Consummate professional who is comfortable operating in ambiguous and quickly changing environments
  • Expert knowledge of HRIS platforms, preferably Rippling, which houses our HR suite, IT suite, and spend management
  • Ability to perform and engage with a global employee base which is largely remote
Preferred experience:
  • Experience with international HR for a non-US entity that might have different labor laws (currently we have a South Africa entity)
  • Experience working with and evaluating PEO and ASO services
  • Experiencing setting up and running performance management systems
  • Solid understanding of level-funded (what we are on currently), fully-insured, and self-insured benefits options and strategic benefits of each
  • Other items in our tech stack: G-suite, Slack, Zoom, Monday.com, Snappy/Tremendous (rewards), Rippling Pulse (surveys), Performance Management, Goals (OKRs), Fidelity (401k), Carta (comp benchmarking), PinPoint (ATS)
