Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
Job Description:A Disaster Recovery Analyst is sought for a key role within the IT team. The Disaster Recovery (DR) Program plays a crucial role in aligning application recovery capabilities with business continuity objectives. As the program expands recovery plans and capabilities across the organization, the successful candidate will bring valuable experience in writing and reviewing recovery plans, ensuring they are clear, concise, and effective. An understanding of IT systems, networks, and cloud services is essential for this role. The Disaster Recovery Analyst will be part of a 2-person team, reporting to the Disaster Recovery Program Manager and the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Key Responsibilities:Risk Analysis:
- Perform risk analysis to identify points of vulnerability and recommend strategies for disaster avoidance and risk reduction.
Plan Development:
- Collaborate with IT Application Owners to publish new and updated recovery plans for IT applications.
- Review Disaster Recovery governance and documented recovery plans for completeness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Schedule and coordinate Disaster Recovery exercises.
DR Testing and Documentation:
- Participate as an observer and scribe during DR testing exercises, documenting the test scope, timing, success/failure results, and areas for improvement. This may include on-site work at a recovery site (transportation to the site is the candidate's responsibility).
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Track key performance metrics for the Disaster Recovery Program and assist with reporting to IT Leadership.
IT Operations Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of practical experience in IT Operations.
Disaster Recovery Experience:
- At least 2 years of training or practical experience in Disaster Recovery.
Skills:
- Strong work ethic, effective time management, and a highly inclusive team player.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong writing capabilities.
- Authorization to work indefinitely in the U.S.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science.
Experience:
- Previous experience on a Disaster Recovery team within a large organization.
