Job Description

Experian is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer, reporting to the Senior Director - FSD Technology, with exposure to Big Data to join our CIS Product Delivery team. This is a great opportunity for someone who specializes in Kafka Architecture to ensure a cloud-based financial services platform to access accurate data. You will have built real-time software services platforms where large-volume messaging is core to the solution set.

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you must be a messaging expert with a well-rounded background in a diverse set of messaging middleware solutions (commercial, open source, in-house) with an in-depth understanding of architectures of such solutions as Kafka. Additional responsibilities for this position include:

  • Develop the Kafka ecosystem by creating a framework for applying technologies such as Kafka Connect, KStreams/KSQL, Attunity, Schema Registry, and other streaming-oriented technology
  • Help build the DevOps strategy for hosting and managing our SDP microservice and connector infrastructure in AWS cloud
  • Background in design/implementing big data technologies around Apache Hadoop, Kafka streaming, No SQL, Java/J2EE and distributed computing platforms in large enterprises where scale and complexity have been tackled.
  • Understand the application of enterprise software design for implementing data services and middleware.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience participating in Agile development projects for enterprise-level systems component design and implementation
  • Experienced engineer with hands-on coding skills (Java, Scala, Python)
  • Experience with Kafka Streaming, Containerized Micro-services
  • Experience monitoring the health of Kafka cluster (data loss and data lagging) and strategy for short TTD (time to detect) of broker failure and fast TTR (time to recover)
  • Experience with RDBMS (Aurora MySQL) and No-SQL (Cassandra)
  • AWS Cloud experience – S3, EFS, MSK, ECS, or EMR.
  • Knowledge of Hadoop/Spark and multiple data formats like Parquet, CSV
