Sumner Gun & Supply, a family-owned, full-service gun store and shooting range located in Gallatin, Tennessee, is proud to be Sumner County's premier gun range. Here, you'll find a wide selection of new and used sporting, hunting and defense handguns, rifles and shotguns, as well as holsters, magazines, bags and cases, scopes and other optics, accessories, ammunition, and cleaning supplies.


In addition, we offer group and personalized trainings led by certified instructors for anyone interested in shooting basics, self-defense, Tennessee carry permit, and guard training and recertification, as well as gun cleaning/repairs and gun accessory installation/adjustments handled by our experienced staff. Since we first opened our doors in 2009, our mission has been to provide our customers with a satisfying shopping and shooting experience every time they visit.


Job Summary:

We are seeking a versatile and creative Marketing Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies across social media, print, and event channels to enhance our brand presence and drive engagement. This role requires a blend of creativity, analytical skills, and strong project management abilities.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:


Social Media Marketing:

  • Content Creation: Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Strategy Development: Create and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engagement, and traffic.
  • Monitoring & Analysis: Track and analyze social media metrics, adjust strategies based on insights, and prepare regular reports on campaign performance.
  • Community Engagement: Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner to foster a positive online community.

Print Marketing:

  • Collateral Development: Design and produce marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, posters, and advertisements.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all print materials adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with print vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials.
  • Campaign Execution: Plan and execute print marketing campaigns, including direct mail and promotional materials.

Event Marketing:

  • Event Planning: Organize and execute company events, trade shows, and conferences to promote products/services.
  • Logistics Management: Handle all event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and on-site setup.
  • Promotional Activities: Develop and implement pre-event and post-event marketing strategies to maximize attendance and engagement.
  • Budget Management: Monitor event budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution without compromising quality.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
  • Strong graphic design skills with experience using design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics and reporting tools.

Education and Experience:

  • No degree required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on social media, print, and event marketing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with event management software (e.g., Eventbrite, Cvent).
  • Knowledge of SEO and online marketing trends.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or computer and stand for prolonged periods during events and presentations.
  • Ability to reach, handle, and manipulate objects such as marketing materials, promotional items, and office supplies.
  • Occasionally lift and move marketing materials, promotional items, and event equipment, typically weighing up to 25 pounds.
