Job Title: Experienced DISHWASHER
Pay range: $17-$20+tips (DOE)
Location: NEP CAFE at 10836 Warner Ave, Fountain Valley, CA 92708
DISHWASHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate the industrial dishwasher
- Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary
- Empty and clean all trash receptacles
- Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources
- Clean dish storage
- Follow sanitation policies at all times
- Provide assistance to prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times
- Report any sanitation or janitorial issues to the appropriate party
- Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
- Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
- Set up workstations before meal prep begins
- Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours.
- Notify the supervisor when small wares are getting low.
- Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders when necessary (with supervisor’s approval)
- Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/ performance issues
Qualifications:
- Food Handler Card Training Offered with paid training hours
- 6 months to 1 year experience in similar capacity
- Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Flexible/Adaptable schedule. Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work in a hot, humid environment
- Attention to detail and sanitation rules
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
- Dexterity in using kitchen equipment or utensils and carrying a hot/heavy tray
- Show up to work in full uniform every shift (chef coat, apron, hat/bandana, non- slip shoes)
Weekly day range:
- Monday to Friday (evenings preferred)
- Must have some weekend availability
