JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly with the Athletic Director and Assistant to Head of School to schedule all transportation needs for the year, including morning pick-up, sports, field trips, etc.
  • Schedule and supervisor TCA bus drivers and volunteers for all TCA transportation needs.
  • Develops schedules and procedures for and ensures adherence to routine maintenance and non-routine repair of all vehicles in the school fleet.
  • Collaborates with supervisor, Athletic Director, and staff to manage and reduce expenses such as those for fuel and labor costs.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic plan for TCA transportation needs that maximizes safety and minimizes cost. Establishes a schedule for recommended replacement of fleet vehicles or conversion to transportation service providers.
  • Recommends the purchase of new or replacement equipment and information systems that create greater efficiencies and user value; arranges for equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Maintains and oversees the maintenance of a variety of records, logs and files related to transportation and food services including inventory and budget records to facilitate record keeping.
  • Develops and enforces procedures, policies, and safety protocols for all fleet services staff. Develop and execute required training programs for TCA transportation staff and volunteers.
  • Operate as a bus driver when transportation demands require so.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and understanding of fleet management and operations.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations governing child transportation programs.
  • Ability to quickly shift priorities due to emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate a cooperative team spirit and genuine concern for others.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.)
  • Ability to maintain inventory and record-keeping procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to learn and serve.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
