Position Summary:

The Senior Software Engineer’s primary responsibility is to work as part of a R&D team and apply their expertise to the design, integration, and testing of telecommunications products. This role will have exposure to the full development lifecycle, including Software Design, Debugging, Documentation, Test, Delivery, Routine Maintenance and Feature Updates

Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, and debug applications in various software languages including C, C++, and VHDL for embedded systems.
  • Responsible for the design, development, testing and deployment of software used in telecommunication equipment.
  • Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements into software programs.
  • Responsible for the analysis of current programs including performance, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of existing programs.
  • Maintain documentation and version control for software programs.
  • Interface with software developers and testers to support testing and maintenance.
  • Lead the software engineering process (unit testing, code reviews, documentation delivery) and support the test and integration process.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated background in one or more programming languages and/or systems integration (C/C++ preferred, Embedded Linux/Yocto, RHEL, VHDL)
  • Experience with board bring-up of VPX cards that run RHEL.
  • Experience working with integrated product teams that may be geographically separated.
  • Experience working with commercial development tools and processes
  • Development experience within a LINUX cross-compilation environment using industry standard tools (gcc, cmake, git)
  • Networking experience is preferred: TCP/IP, UDP, Multicast.
  • Experience with managing security vulnerabilities is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years’ Experience in programming, preferably related to telecommunication and satellite communication systems.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites(10%)
