Job Summary:

The Controller will direct the financial operations of the company including reporting, planning, investing, and other financial matters.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees employees responsible for financial reporting, accounting, payroll, and billing activities
  • Implements internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities.
  • Oversees accounting employee training programs and identifies training needs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the company’s financial planning and investment activities.
  • Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Oversees the preparation of monthly financial statements and revenue reporting
  • Ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards.
  • Reviews financial details from past, present, and forecasted operations; identifies development opportunities and improvements that can be made.
  • Reports company’s daily cash position accounting for all disbursements and receipts
  • Provides management with short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Confirms accuracy and oversees filing of quarterly and annual reports.
  • Collaborates with external auditors to provide information needed for annual review.
  • Maintains knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent and highly accurate math and accounting skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and specialized accounting/operational software used by the organization.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, with a minimum of 10 years of experience; OR a relevant Masters degree with five years of experience.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • APPLIED EPIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • INSURANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
