Outside Sales

Objective:
This position answers directly to the Sales Manager and is engaged in the growth and development of the company. While this position does not manage production, or any other aspect of the business, they will have a large involvement into all aspects of sales strategy. Duties will include developing leads, maintaining client relationships, job site visits, presenting job and sales proposals, closing sales, and coordination with production in order to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Hours
· 45 hours per week, required quotas and material percentage mixes.
· Evening & weekend work as required.
Latitude & Limitations
· Able to follow tiered pricing program, enter contact data, and maintain lead base with
quarterly contacts.
· Able to coordinate contract creation, bids and estimates.
· Will be the first line of communication, relationship maintenance and quality for all
client entities.
· Will be provided a company vehicle or vehicle allowance.
· Able to maintain established quotas and contacts per day and month.
· Will be provided a laptop computer and cell phone for company usage.
· Will be provided with company shirts with logo and all PPE.
· Will have 24/7 access to all facilities and materials.
Accountability
· Your annual performance review will be given around the time of your anniversary
and it will address your overall employment performance as well as your performance
in this position including but not limited to sales volume and relationship creation.
· Will be required to attend weekly production meeting, sales meeting, and all other
meetings as requested by the Sales Manager.
· Required to maintain sales of 75,000 tons of HMA and Aggregate per rolling 3 months.
· All contracts and proposals will require SM approval.
· Minimum of 45 hours per week.
· 8 contacts per day and 150 contacts per month.
· Keeping sales mix below 50% for any one product in a rolling 3 months.

· Able to build and maintain close relationships with general contractors, landscapers,
municipalities, architects, engineers and all customers in your log.
· Able to maintain existing business relationships in a way that builds trust and extends
opportunities.
· Able to always ensure customer satisfaction
· Able to effectively communicate with customers, managers, owners, staff and co-workers.
· Able to develop, manage and grow a data base of customer information.
· Able to create and present proposals and close sales.
· Able to manage your time effectively and report out on all activities on a regular and
ongoing basis.
· Able to develop leads and communicate potential sales back to the office daily for
commission credit
· Able to initiate building relationships outside of our typical customer list.
· Able to learn and maintain a full understanding of HMA and Aggregate products.
· Able to seek opportunities for sales in a wide variety of ways, focused on a broad array of
product types and inclusive of building relationships.
· Able to NOT rely on existing customers, leads, relationships, RFP’s or proposals for quota
requirements.
