About the Program and Position:
The Parent and Child Enrichment Program partners with parents, including teenage parents, who have children between 0-6. Our goal is to help parents build the necessary skills to facilitate healthy development in their children. We believe in promoting positive interactions between parents and their children and enhancing parenting abilities. Our program focuses on helping parents understand their child's developmental cues and responding to their needs. The role you play in this is to assist parents in understanding their child's developmental cues and needs so that they can encourage optimal development.You will also work within the community to attract program participants and be responsible for data and reporting requirements of the program.
How you get to use your skills…
Conduct individual, family, and group training sessions with parents and their children 0-6 and teenage parents, as determined by the program
Complete documentation that is of high quality and follows agency policies and grant applications are submitted within the given deadlines
Market the program in the community to help expand services within the program
Responsible for identifying, obtaining, and maintaining sites to implement program services (with approval from the program supervisor)
Attend and collaborate with community meetings/events/fairs
Facilitate presentations at approved sites to recruit clients for enrollment to the program
Participate in weekly individual/group supervision or as agreed upon with the program supervisor
Complete all required training within the given deadline
Collect and tabulate measurement tools as defined by the grant
Collect demographic and other data and submit within the given deadlines
Coordinate referrals for clients for services not covered by the grant when indicated
Adhere to all agency policies and procedures
Perform all agency activities, job duties and responsibilities, and related agency activities with respect and appreciation for the persons served, including the diversity of cultures, traditions, and practices
Maintain good working relationships among co-workers and administrative staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Schedule: Exempt
- Regular hours entail 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
- Must be flexible to meet program needs
Master's Degree (preferred) in mental health or related field;
Knowledgeable in areas of child development, infant mental health, family functioning, and early intervention
Skilled in collaborating with other disciplines and services
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Cultural sensitivity skills required
Bilingual English/Spanish - required
Knowledge of moderate statistical and research techniques
Ability to prioritize, organize, and schedule workload effectively and efficiently
Ability to work independently with competent decision-making using established criteria and guidelines
Excellent communication and organizational skills and ability to work in a flexible team environment
Ability to travel to all agency locations
Physical Requirements:
Word processing: Including responding to e-mails, composing letters, completing computerized documentation, and transcribing minutes for meetings: This involves sitting at a computer for a minimum of 5 hours and could be up to 7 hours a day depending on program needs.
May be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Completing paperwork -Such as copying, stapling
Answering phones, processing mail, filing, lifting packages
Ability to travel to all program sites
