JOB FUNCTION:

The Sr Manufacturing Plant Accountant provides management with accurate financial information and controls over the assigned area which may include general accounting, cost accounting, analysis, and budget. These objectives are achieved through constant procedural review and modification in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare detailed reporting analysis for Plant Management, including production costs and operating variances
  • Maintain cost accounting system, documents, and records; analyze and recommend cost savings opportunities
  • Coordinate monthly and annual cycle counts of raw materials and finished goods warehouse
  • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
  • Execute month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support Plant Management with short- and long-term financial estimates
  • Support with annual Budget preparation
  • Support and assist with reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others
  • Special projects as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of related accounting or equivalent
  • Prior manufacturing and cost accounting experience
  • Have excellent written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to set priorities, work with minimum supervision, and flexible to handle frequent interruptions
  • Must demonstrate analytical aptitude, a sense of urgency, and ability to take initiative
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite
  • Prior experience using SAP preferred
