Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chinese Food Fry Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Chinese cooking techniques, particularly in frying, and will be responsible for preparing a variety of fried dishes with authentic flavors and high-quality presentation. You will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure that all dishes are prepared according to the restaurant's standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of fried dishes, including but not limited to egg rolls, spring rolls, dumplings, fried rice, and stir-fried noodles, using traditional Chinese cooking techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, ensuring all ingredients are properly stored and prepped for cooking.
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant's standards.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of ingredients and maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to manage orders and ensure timely preparation of dishes.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking ingredient usage and notifying the kitchen manager of any shortages or low-stock items.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in flavor and presentation.
- Handle kitchen equipment and utensils safely and efficiently, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness.
- Work efficiently under pressure, especially during peak hours, while maintaining high-quality standards.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a fry cook in a Chinese restaurant or similar culinary setting.
- Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, particularly frying, and familiarity with a wide range of Chinese ingredients and dishes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed.
