As a UI/UX Consultant at K.L. Scott & Associates, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user interface and user experience of our digital products and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive and visually appealing user experiences that meet user needs and business objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, strong creative skills, and the ability to translate user insights into effective design solutions.  This position will provide support to both internal and client facing projects which require UI/UX support. This is a 3-4 month contract. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. User Research: Conduct user research to understand user behaviors, needs, and pain points. Gather insights through interviews, surveys, and usability testing. 
  1. UX Strategy: Develop and communicate UX strategies, including user personas, user journeys, and information architecture, to guide design decisions. 
  1. Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and mockups to visualize and communicate design concepts and interactions. 
  1. UI Design: Design visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces and infographics for web and mobile applications, adhering to brand guidelines and design principles. Support Website development and modifications including sitemap design, website updates, etc. 
  1. Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability tests to evaluate the effectiveness of design solutions and make iterative improvements based on user feedback. 
  1. Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that designs align with project goals and technical constraints. 
  1. Accessibility: Ensure that designs meet accessibility standards and are inclusive to users with disabilities. 
  1. Documentation: Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides, design systems, and design specifications. 
  1. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in UI/UX design. Share knowledge and advocate for design excellence within the organization. 
  1. Workshop/Facilitation: Work with both clients and internal to determine best content management for intranet sites. Conduct discovery sessions with both clients and internal stakeholders, this may include 1:1 and group/workshop sessions. Be a thought leader for UI/UX design and creative services for the organization. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). 
  • Proven experience as a UI/UX designer or consultant, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design work and process. 
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, Dreamweaver, Invision, Balsamiq or similar. 
  • Experience using PowerBI  
  • Familiarity with 508 Compliance
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, and accessibility. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams. 
  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies and principles is a plus. 
  • Certification in UX design or related fields is advantageous. 

 

Working Conditions:  

  • This position may require travel as needed.  
  • Some projects may require working extended hours to meet project deadlines.
