Job Summary:
Facilitates the development and rehabilitation of mentally, physically, or emotionally disabled persons in a home, school or daycare setting.
Essential Functions:
Plans occupational therapy program activities such as manual arts and crafts.
Provides practice in functional daily living skills.
Coordinates participation in sensory-motor, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients
Develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities.
Consults with other members of the rehabilitation team to select an activity program consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individual.
Select constructive activities suited to the individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest to upgrade the individual to maximum independence, assist in the restoration of functions, and aid in adjustment to disability.
Evaluates the patient’s progress.
Designs and constructs special equipment for individuals and suggests alterations to an individual's work-living environment.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements:Job Qualifications:
Educations: Bachelor’s degree and appropriate certifications and/or licensures.
Licensure: Current Texas State License in Occupational Therapy, current Texas Driver’s License.
Experience: Two years experience in acute care or rehabilitation setting, home health preferred.
Skills: Therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Good interpersonal skills.
Transportation: Reliable transportation and valid and current auto liability insurance.
Environmental and Working Conditions
Works in a patient’s home in various conditions; possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids and infectious diseases; ability to work flexible schedule; ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather.
Physical and Mental Efforts:
Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs and to meet patient/family individualized psycho social needs
