JOB TITLE: Structural Mech III - Aerospace

LOCATION: Savannah, GA

PAY RATE: $28.75 per hour

Summary:

  • Assemble and fit detail parts and structures, perform drilling and riveting operations, and ensure parts meet requirements.

  • Transition to new tasks with minimal impact on goal hours and schedules.

  • Rivet structural members and parts using required tools; remove fasteners without damaging structures.

  • Read work orders, blueprints, and operation sheets to determine sequence, type, size, and hole pattern for rivets.

  • Inspect all work for defects prior to final inspection.

  • Instruct and assist team members with blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders; develop methods to resolve production issues.

  • Maintain logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, PCOs).

  • Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.

  • Perform repairs and rework as needed to meet conformity.

  • Maintain a clean work area, support the 5S & Lean Initiative Program, and comply with safety regulations.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Assist and instruct other team members as needed.

  • Support Lean activities.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of structural assembly experience.

  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.

  • Basic computer skills and ability to read scales and perform basic shop math.

  • Strong attention to detail, professional attitude, and ability to meet demanding schedules.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.

  • Skilled in close tolerance work with knowledge of special tools and equipment.

  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials.

  • Flexibility to work any shift and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to climb ladders, work in small spaces, and maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
