Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Senior Software Developer/Database Administrator shall possess knowledge and experience in applications software development principles and methods sufficient to participate in the design, development, testing and implementation of new or modified applications software; including operating systems installation and configuration procedures; organization’s operational environment, software design principles, methods and approaches; principles, methods and procedures for designing, developing, optimizing and integrating new and/or reusable systems components; infrastructure requirements, such as bandwidth and server sizing;
database management principles and methodologies, including data structures, data modeling, data warehousing and transaction processing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work; and speak and write effectively and prepare effective reports.

Responsibilities:
Lead and/work on Solution design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation and support of the Solution.
  •  Plan, install, configure, test, implement and manage the systems environment in support of architecture and business needs.
  •  Analyze and refine system requirements;
  •  Translate systems requirements into solution prototypes;
  •  Plan and design system architecture;
  •  Write, debug maintain code(s);
  •  Determine and design applications architecture;
  •  Determine output media/formats;
  •  Design user interfaces;
  •  Work with customers to test solution;
  •  Assure solution and systems quality and functionality;
  •  Integrate hardware and software components;
  •  Write and maintain program documentation;
  •  Ensure rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices to the delivery of the solution.
  •  Analyze systems requirements in response to business requirements, risks and costs;
  •  Evaluate, select, verify and validate systems environment;
  •  Evaluate, select and install compilers, assemblers and utilities (as needed);
  •  Integrate hardware and software components within the systems environment;
  •  Monitor and fine-tune performance of the systems environment;
  •  Evaluate new systems engineering technologies and their effect on the operating environment;
Requirements:
  • Designing and developing data warehouse solutions to support business intelligence and reporting needs.
  • Collaborating with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources into the data warehouse using tools like Informatica, Talend, or SSIS.
  • Building and maintaining data models, schemas, and dimensional structures to optimize data storage and retrieval.
  • Writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and manipulate data for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Implementing data quality and data governance processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data in the warehouse.
  • Performance tuning and optimization of data warehouse processes and queries to improve overall system efficiency.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting data warehouse performance issues, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions.
  • Collaborating with database administrators to ensure proper configuration, backup, and recovery of the data warehouse.
  • Conducting data profiling and data analysis to identify data quality issues and recommend improvements.
  • Participating in data warehouse architecture design and providing input on technology selection and best practices.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data warehousing technologies and methodologies.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming. At least four (4) years of that experience must have been in a lead capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related or Engineering field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
