Position Overview:

OCEANAIR is currently seeking an Import agent in our Pharmaceuticals Division to process and secure domestic and international shipments who will consistently deliver an exceptional experience to OCEANAIR Inc.’s customers, both external and internal. This role requires strong attention to detail to manage documentation that ensures regulatory compliance and is complete and acceptable to ensure entry through U.S. Customs.

** MAY REQUIRE WEEKEND OR HOLIDAY WORK DEPENDING ON DEPARTMENT NEED

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Direct the movement of international shipments ensuring timely delivery through collaborating with overseas partners and customers
• Manage documentation of shipments to ensure compliance and entry to U. S. Customs, and to ensure accuracy of all shipments
• Communicate with freight forwarding agents, shipping lines and airlines to obtain charges and cargo release details
• Ensure timely payments are received and processed according to established guidelines
• Negotiate pricing to ensure maximum profitability
• Verify manifests, invoices, and orders are recorded accurately for incoming shipments.
• Work closely with customers to promptly resolves any concerns and proactively identify and communication any potential concerns
• Collaborating with officials at various agencies
• Ensure Transportation Management System is updated with shipment information

Skills & Qualifications:

• 1 year of hands-on experience in forwarding, logistics or distribution operations preferred.
• Previous knowledge of customs compliance regulation is desired.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and ability to manage deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Hazardous certification, preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel are required.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in an office environment where there is no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
• Sensory Essential Functions include close work, visual examination of paperwork, computer monitor and keyboard use, conversations, telephone and background noise.
• Ability to carry, lift, push or pull up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods with occasional walking, squatting and twisting.
