MODENA is seeking a strong and talented sous chef to join and help lead the culinary team.


Our ideal applicants are individuals who are responsible team players who have strong communication and inter-personal skills and can handle a multiple tasks in a composed, friendly and hospitable manner.

We prefer applicants with strong food & beverage knowledge, and there are exciting growth opportunities with us for the right applicant.

The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the executive chef, leading a staff, and upholding our standards for both food and service that we've maintained over the last 25+ years. The menu reflects both classic Italian dishes as well as modern takes on the classics.

Job Summary:
Uphold the standards laid out by the Executive Chef and General Manager
Manage staff, leading by example and maintaining a calm, constructive attitude.
Run service, with an emphasis on cleanliness, speed, and consistency, overseeing line cooks, utility staff, and FOH staff.
Train and guide expeditors on management and firing of tickets.
Work cohesively with managers and FOH staff to ensure a positive guest experience.
Manage production of labor- and time-intensive menu items.
Responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen, and provides professional leadership and direction to kitchen personnel.
Ensures that all the recipes, food preparations and presentations meet restaurant's specifications and commitment to quality.
Maintains a safe, orderly and sanitized kitchen.
Demonstrates this example using proper food-handling techniques.

Requirements:
Experienced Sous-Chef
• Must have prior experience in a fine dining restaurant; Italian Restaurant experience preferred
• Ordering and Food Inventory
• Must ensure that all the recipes, food preparations, and presentations meet the Restaurant's specifications and commitment to quality.
• Responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen, and provides professional
• Leadership and direction to kitchen personnel.
• Maintains a safe, orderly and sanitized kitchen.
