Job Title: CONTROLLER (CPA Preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Bachelors degree in accounting
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 7 years of experience at manager level (will oversee team of 15 members)
  • General ledger, collections, financial reporting, fixed assets and accounts payable
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements and managing budgets and forecasts as presented to the Board of Directors, Shareholders and financial institutions
  • Cash flow management
  • Coordination of annual financial review with outside CPAs
  • Reconciliation of accounts and budgets
  • Analysis of results versus budget
  • Implementing and monitoring internal financial controls to mitigate risk and analyzing financial data to assist in firm wide risk management
  • Management of the firms accounting, billing and timekeeping software, Aderant (preferred).
  • Management of the finance team which includes the accounting and billing departments (direct and indirect reports)
  • Offering training and developing opportunities to foster collaborative departmental culture
  • Participating in strategic planning and decision making at the management level to enhance profitability and efficiency within the firm
  • Administration of the firm 401(k) plan
  • Providing financial data to respond to RFPs, surveys, insurance applications, etc.
  • Serving as an advisory member on the Finance, Retirement and Healthcare committees.
  • Enforcing accounting and department policies and procedures
  • Maintaining focus on continuous improvement through research and source innovative, efficient, cost-effective business solutions by looking beyond the status quo
