Summary/Objective

The .NET Developer is responsible for building and maintaining high quality custom software solutions ensuring on-time delivery within budget. Partnering with the Information Technology department, the Developer will create full-featured, data-driven applications and web solutions and will be instrumental in handling all aspects of a solution including requirements gathering through design, development, QA, and deployment. Through natural flexibility and a commitment to excellence, the Developer will ensure optimal support of IFT’s internal and external customers, members and vendors.

Essential Responsibilities

• Engages in project planning sessions with staff to understand business requirements
• Analyzes business needs based on user discussions and assesses the technical feasibility of projects
• Prepares time estimates for requested changes and collaborates with IT colleagues to schedule requested changes
• Presents design options and recommend the best approach and develops, implements, and creates key performance metrics
• Creates software architecture diagrams as needed to explain project functionality
• Designs database modifications and user interfaces that support the required functionality and meet the functional requirements
• Utilizes established development tools and conventions, including Visual Studio, ASP.NET, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#/VB.NET.
• Finds, corrects and eradicates errors and bugs in production programs
• Responsible for making modifications to software based on approved customer and staff needs
• Leads small-to-medium-scale projects as defined by internal and external customer needs
• Develops components and systems to meet requirements and design specifications
• Follows established development tools, guidelines, standards, and conventions
• Creates and performs unit tests for new and modified components and systems
• Deploys new and changed components into the IFT test environment
• Assists staff in creating and conducting user acceptance tests
• Releases approved projects into the production environment
• Writes and maintains clear technical documentation for custom software
• Documents software for use by customer service and other staff members
• Deploys changes to production software using standard tools and procedures
• Obtains prior approval for production software deployments following change control procedures
• Maintains knowledge in developing trends and technologies in the industry
• Ensures compliance with industry and legal regulations and best practices, and adherence to company processes and procedures
• Builds brand loyalty by cultivating and maintaining relationships with vendors by guiding and participating in vendor selection and ongoing interactions

Travel Required

• Occasional domestic travel is expected including the ability to attend occasional evening, weekend, and overnight meetings

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 2+ years of software development experience, with a minimum of 2 years on the .NET platform
• Full project lifecycle experience
• 2+ years managing small-to-medium-scale software projects
• 2+ performing business requirements analysis and system design
• Expert in C#, ASP.NET, MVC, and SQL Server
• Skilled in IIS and Visual Studio
• Proficient in the software deployment process
• Expert in Web Services (SOAP, REST, OData) or WebAPI, XML or JSON
• Proficient in JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, CSS, Bootstrap, HTML 5
• Expert in SQL queries, stored procedures, and data import/export

Preferred Experience

• Working knowledge or experience in Data Warehouse (e.g. Snowflake), ETL tools, and BI report generation

Other Duties
This position, and all others at IFT, may be modified at any time. To ensure operational efficiency and meet the changing needs of our customers and our Business, other duties may be assigned as needed.
