We're Looking For A: Lead Maintenance Technician

Location: Richfield, WI

Availability on 2nd shift (2pm - 10:30pm)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Maintains a safety and quality mindset and follows all safety and quality guidelines and/or protocols
  • Collaborate with Supervisor, Maintenance to relay team performance and identify opportunities to optimize performance across the maintenance team
  • Maintains strong internal customer service to the various departments across the facility, including leadership and employees
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities and projects across the facility
  • Performs preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and machines to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration in partnership with the Supervisor, Maintenance
  • Observes and tests the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions, utilizing necessary testing equipment
  • Assist in the planning, coordinating, and implementation of special projects, equipment installations, and routine maintenance
  • Operates newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs completed
  • Records repairs, maintenance, parts and materials used, and order new parts and materials as necessary
  • References facility floor plan and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of equipment
  • Examines parts and equipment for defects and excessive wear
  • Apply a variety of methods, procedures and techniques to layout, install, align, repair, overhaul and maintain various types of machines and equipment

Preferred Qualifications (Note: These are preferred and not required. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don't tick ALL of these boxes.):

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proven problem-solving skills and comfortable troubleshooting ambiguous challenges or issues with equipment, machinery and the plant
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • 5+ years of mechanical and electrical background
  • 5+ years of facilities maintenance experience
  • Experience working in the pet food or food production industry
  • HACCP experience
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move machinery, equipment or parts, up to 50 lbs
