Elmer's Home Service is pleased to announce an open position for a Licensed Pest Control Technician. This full-time role provides an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual looking to advance their career in pest control management. As a key member of our team, the technician will be instrumental in maintaining our reputation for exceptional service and commitment to environmentally responsible pest control solutions. Please note, this is a non-remote job requiring regular attendance at various service locations.

Our ideal candidate is a professional with proven experience in pest control, eager to apply their skills in a dynamic work environment. The technician will handle a variety of tasks aimed at identifying, controlling, and eliminating pest issues while ensuring safety and compliance regulations are strictly followed.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Carry out detailed pest control inspections and evaluations to identify infestations and at-risk areas.
  • Develop and implement effective pest management solutions tailored to each situation.
  • Use pesticides and other treatments safely and effectively in accordance with label instructions and legal requirements.
  • Maintain and operate equipment used in the application of pesticides such as sprayers and fogging equipment.
  • Work closely with clients to provide advice and guidance on how to prevent future pest problems.
  • Prepare detailed service reports after each visit documenting the work performed and advising customers on post-treatment care.
  • Comply with all safety guidelines and continue to update knowledge on pest management best practices.
  • Identify insect specimens brought in by the public, providing appropriate advice and treatment.
  • Conduct visits to premises for the survey and laying of baits and setting of traps for rodent control.
  • Handle the destruction of rats and mice through appropriate measures based on survey findings.
  • Treat insect infestations through thorough analysis and appropriate application of insecticides.
  • Set traps and control devices or use chemicals strategically to resolve infestations.
  • Remove and dispose of dead animals safely and sanitarily.
Requirements
  • Valid pest control technician license.
  • Proven experience in pest control, with a strong understanding of various treatment methodologies.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and local regulations concerning pesticide application.
  • Ability to identify different types of pests and knowledgeable about their behaviors and common infestation signs.
  • Physical ability to handle manual tasks and operate necessary machinery.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and providing clear and effective recommendations.
  • Detailed oriented with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and thoroughness in service delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of responsibility and accountability.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as required to meet client needs.
