Reports to: Restaurant General Manager
The Casual Dining Food Runner is responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient delivery of food from the kitchen to the dining tables, assisting servers, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area. Key duties include running food orders, assisting with clearing and resetting tables, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for customers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Essential Functions:- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables promptly and accurately.
- Assist servers with delivering beverages and additional items to tables as needed.
- Clear tables promptly and efficiently after guests have finished dining.
- Reset tables with clean utensils, napkins, and condiments for incoming guests.
- Keep dining areas clean and organized, including sweeping, wiping surfaces, and removing debris.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness of restrooms and other public areas as assigned.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Provide assistance to customers as needed, such as refilling water glasses or answering basic inquiries.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a hygienic dining environment.
- Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Ability to calculate and count cash & change.
- Ability to carry trays with multiple food and beverage products including dirty dishes & glassware.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to notice and address cleanliness and organization issues promptly.
- Teamwork: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure efficient operations.
- Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication Skills: Basic verbal communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues courteously.
- Time Management: Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively during busy periods.
- Efficiency: Ability to work quickly and efficiently to keep up with customer demand.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation principles.
- Moderate to noisy environment due to customer activity and kitchen operations.
- Fast-paced setting with high customer volume during peak hours.
- Requirement to stand for extended periods and engage in repetitive motions such as bending and lifting.
