Summary of Position

The Field Salesman is responsible for the primary sales and marketing of Graco services and products to the oil & gas operators at the well site, rig site and field offices. The Field Salesman is the primary custodian of the Graco image with his/her respective client. He/she ensures that Graco is always held in the highest regard, both technically and interpersonally by becoming personally acquainted with key personnel in his/her client’s organizations.


Essential Functions

  • Routinely visit clients at well site, rig site and field offices to maintain proper level of relationship.
  • Communicates to Graco management clearly defined customer needs or opportunities to apply existing services and products.
  • Participates in client specific meetings and events to promote support regional sales initiatives.
  • Monitor client’s perception of our service and provide feedback to Graco organization accordingly.
  • Assist in the development of store business strategies by identifying opportunities and monitoring client activity, service needs and our competition.
  • The Field Salesman must work closely with his/her store to ensure a unified sales approach to the customers
  • Provides job preparation, deployment, well site and job follow-up support as appropriate
  • Work and liaise harmoniously with his/her respective Graco store to solve client problems and ensure consistent delivery of outstanding service quality.
  • Optimize operational capacity and capabilities to meet client needs while maximizing Graco profit.
  • The Field Salesman helps to maintain the dominant position of Graco within the industry by actively soliciting new work to increase / maintain our market share.
  • Maintains current information on competitor activity. Solicits feedback from clients on their perception of competition services and products.
  • Provides feedback to Graco management on competitor presence, technology and local strategies.
  • Provides current customer information for Graco customer database.
  • Ensures involvement with store & sales manager on the monthly revenue forecast
  • Ensures drilling rig activity is monitored and communicated to store & sales manager as needed.
  • Monitors and tracks market pricing trends.
Requirements:

Skills/Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Seven (7) or more years of oilfield related work/rigs or fishing tool shop experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-starter with ability to operate efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Skilled at maintaining positive working relationship with employees and customers
  • Must have a safe driving record and be willing to submit to and able to pass a pre-employment drug test, MVR check and criminal background check.
