This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, must have or be able to obtain Food Handler Certificate within first 90 calendar days and Food Manager Certificate within 120 calendar days . Food experience preferred. Applicants must be detailed orientated, able to multitask, work with interruptions and should have great customer service skills. 100% on-site work and required vaccinations per IDPH, CDC, CMS and Memorial Hospital policies or an approved vaccination exemption.
Job Summary: Prepares food for patients, dining room and special functions. Is responsible for maintaining standards of food production and portion control using standardized recipes and assuring that appropriate quantities of food are prepared for meeting menu requirements and therapeutic diets. Cleans all utensils and food service equipment according to policies and procedures. In absence of the Dietary Manager and Dietary Supervisor assumes responsibility for the general responsibility of running the department including scheduling in cases of absenteeism. Take orders for patients and from staff, deliver trays to patient rooms and pick empty items to return to the kitchen. Properly wipe down areas and clean dishes as required for safe areas. Must be cross trainable. Must be able to serve staff and take money as needed to fill in on other positions.
