JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an Outbound Manager that will be responsible for overseeing and managing all

outbound operations within the Distribution Center. Direct reports 2 team leads and an average of 25 employees. This role ensures the efficient and accurate

processing of orders, including picking, packing, and shipping. The Outbound Manager will work

closely with cross-functional teams to maintain high standards of customer service, optimize

operational workflows, and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES, KEY COMPETENCIES

· Team Leadership:

o Lead, train, and develop the outbound team, including supervisors, warehouse

associates, and shipping clerks.

o Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and

continuous improvement.

· Operational Management:

o Oversee daily outbound operations, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and

shipped accurately and on time.

o Manage and monitor inventory levels, coordinating with the inventory control

team to resolve discrepancies.

o Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure

efficiency and consistency in outbound processes.

· Performance Monitoring:

o Track and analyze outbound KPIs, including order accuracy, shipping times, and

productivity metrics.

o Identify areas for improvement and implement action plans to enhance

· Customer Service:

o Collaborate with the customer service team to address and resolve any outbound-related issues, ensuring customer satisfaction.

o Maintain a high level of communication with internal stakeholders to keep them informed of outbound operations and any potential delays. ·

Compliance and Safety:

o Ensure outbound operations comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. o Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the outbound team, conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.

· Technology and Systems:

o Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant software to monitor and optimize outbound workflows.

o Stay updated on new technologies and recommend upgrades to improve outbound processes.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES

Qualifications:

· 2-5 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or warehouse management, with a focus

on outbound operations.

· Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing, motivating, and

developing teams.

· Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software.

· Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards related to distribution and

logistics.

· Have a continuous improvement methodology that “leads from the front”.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.

· Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.

· Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
