We are seeking an experienced Billing and Coding Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for all medical billing and coding functions to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. IN PERSON ONLY (not a remote position)
Key Responsibilities:
- Review patient charts and assign appropriate CPT codes
- Submit claims to commercial payers and Medicaid
- Track claims, follow up on unpaid or denied claims and work with payers to resolve issues
- Maintain billing records and logs to track accounts receivable and denied claims
- Handle patient billing inquiries and post payments
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA and all payer guidelines
- Analyze billing reports and identify trends to improve billing processes
- Train clinical staff on proper documentation and coding guidelines when needed
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a behavioral health setting
- Thorough knowledge of coding guidelines
- Expertise with medical billing software
- Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines
- Commitment to quality service and compliance
