Logistics Clerk

Summary: This position supports the day-to-day functions of the Shipping and Delivery departments, with the main responsibility of using current computer systems and SAP to invoice customer orders. This position supports the Traffic Manager with all associated duties, including vacation/absence coverage. Work duties will also include the use of Microsoft office programs including Excel and Word, frequent data entry, managing performance spreadsheets, filing, and other duties designated by the Traffic Manager and Logistics Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review entered data and execute necessary checks and balances in current computer systems and SAP to ensure accurate data entry, and invoicing procedures.
  • Sort and staple together routes/ pick tickets for order selection with third party pick paperwork.
  • Organize and file all invoiced copies with pick tickets and load sheets.
  • Communicates with inventory personnel and shift management to ensure proper product lots and weights are uploaded to customer orders before invoicing.
  • Support for help in managing transportation services during peak holiday seasons.
  • Data entry and calculation of departmental performance measures.
  • Increased depth of coverage for absences in billing and shift supervision.
  • Flexible schedules necessary to help cover work volumes during shift supervisor and billing personnel vacations.
  • Receive written and oral instructions.
  • Studies and helps to standardize procedures to improve efficiency of job duties and overall department.
  • Maintain harmony and a positive work environment among co-workers.

Education and/or Experience

One to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Excel and Word software. Ability to understand and access third party warehouse reporting systems via web link.

Ability to learn functions and uses of current computer systems and SAP. Knowledge of ACCESS a plus but not required.
