POSITION SUMMARY

A Computer Analyst is responsible for evaluating, designing, and implementing IT systems to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations. They work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements. The role involves troubleshooting issues, improving system performance, and ensuring the seamless integration of new technologies.

Requirements:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requirements Gathering and Analysis:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and objectives.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of current systems and processes.
  • Document and communicate requirements through various means, including diagrams and specifications.

System Design and Implementation:

  • Develop technical solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Create detailed design documents, including system architecture, data models, and process flows.
  • Oversee the implementation and integration of new systems or enhancements to existing systems.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and execute test plans to ensure systems meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Identify and resolve defects or issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure system performance, security, and reliability standards are met.

Project Management:

  • Plan and manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and network administrators.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet deadlines and budget constraints.

Technical Support and Maintenance:

  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements.

Documentation and Training:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure they can effectively use the systems.
  • Develop user manuals and guides as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Education: Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relative certifications could be applied.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of systems analysis and design methodologies.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python).
  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
