Clinic Training Manager

JOB TITLE: Clinic Training Manager

DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: Behavioral Health Services

SUPERVISOR: Sr. Director Integrated Behavioral Health Services

Grade: 82 [ salary range: $22.50-$38.30 commensurate with education and experience ]

FLSA STATUS: Exempt


JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Integrated Behavioral Health Services, the Clinic Training Manager is responsible for developing, assessing, administering and revising training material for all positions in the integrated behavioral health clinic and its partner programs. The Clinic Training Manager will work with key cross functional areas to ensure the success of our staff, which results in positive outcomes for our clients. The Clinic Training Manager is responsible for all aspects of the training and development needs, including the onboarding process for both employees and interns. The Clinic Training Manager will demonstrate and be accountable to the Agency’s Mission, Vision, Values, Guiding Principles and Strategic Plan. Exercises full compliance with the Agency’s Code of Conduct, all Agency Policies and Procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review all existing training material and job descriptions, identifying gaps and creating new supplemental material to complement existing training material to ensure that the clinic has adequate substance to ensure that existing employees are meeting all job requirements.
  • Develop programming designed to equip all new employees and interns with the skills and experience needed to fulfill their new roles.
  • Collaborate with community program leadership to develop and maintain the annual training plan that addresses the agency's values and priorities.
  • Develop a master calendar for programmatic trainings to include monthly, quarterly, and annual trainings based on agency- wide mandated trainings, contract specific trainings, and required regulatory trainings.
  • Train users on equipment, software and/or technology, including customizing protocols or templates.
  • Develop and test curriculum and scoring guides, including tracking student progress.
  • Coordinate training for all users, ensuring appropriate materials and scoring are provided.
  • Identify and find solutions for performance issues both technically and in user behavior.
  • Support the department as needed with other Quality Assurance and Compliance activities.
  • Designs assessment tools and administer tests for employees.
  • Work with human resources to determine staff training needs; develop improved training material based on the results.
  • Integrates Sanctuary Model into all aspects of the training and development program.
  • Represents the programs and the Agency in the community and with regional and statewide licensing bodies and coalitions.
  • Demonstrates, promotes and practices Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in relation to clients and staff through respect and understanding achieved through training, individual supervision and Agency cultural activities.
  • Supports the Sr. Director of Integrated Behavioral Health Services on implementation of initiatives. (i.e., programs, organizational development, etc.).
  • May serve on a variety of agency wide teams providing input and support.
  • Will provide oversight to the CD Prevention Grant.
  • May supervise clinical staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

POSITION SPECIFICS:

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field preferred; LMSW, LCSW, LMHC licensure or Master CASAC preferred.
  • Maintains CEU's as outlined by NYSED Office of the Professions

Experience:

  • Experience in training design and development preferred. Project management or Organizational Development experience a plus
  • Experience in a clinical setting and familiarity with skills assessment methods
  • Experience implementing evidence-based curricula
  • Experience delivering trauma-responsive programming in the context of Substance Use Disorder and mental health treatment

Skills:

  • Valid NYS driver’s license that meets Agency Policy
  • Ability to apply race/identity, trauma, or recovery lens to understanding systems;
  • Comfort in utilizing data and assessing performance from an analytical lens;
  • Experience working in publicly-funded treatment settings, using a variety of medications to treat Opioid Use Disorder;
  • Skills in Training, Clinical Education and Training Management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong memory skills, close attention to detail, and high adaptability

Physical Demands:

  • Work in an indoor clinical setting and may spend many hours per day standing or moving, so applicants should be capable of spending a typical shift on their feet or via zoom.
