Job DescriptionJob Description

Job Overview: As the Controller at Total Primary Care, you will play a key role in supporting the organization by providing expertise in the finance and accounting functions. You will work closely with the existing accounting team as well as internal leadership and external stakeholders. This position requires an understanding of accounting and a passion for empowering team members to reach their full potential.

Essential Functions

  • Manage all functions of accounting, financial management, and cash management. 
  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Lead annual audit, including preparing supporting information for external auditors.
  • Liaise with external parties, including representing the company in meetings and completing ad hoc analyses.
  • Work closely with upper management to identify areas of profit improvement.
  • Coach and mentor the current accounting team (3) to enhance their technical and professional skills, and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of monthly financial reports.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and regional leadership to ensure accurate payroll.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in healthcare accounting and finance. 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork among the accounting team, promoting a positive working environment and a patient-centered approach.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for improving overall organizational financial performance.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain relationships internally and externally. 
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times. 
  • Adhere to employer’s work practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, staff, and management. 
  • Document work processes as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Preferred experience with QuickBooks.
  • Preferred experience in healthcare delivery.
  • Preferred experience communicating with external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders and build strong relationships.
  • Proven track record in maintaining accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Ability to analyze data and evaluate performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in-person, by phone, or in writing.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures, including, but not limited to: standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.  
  • Other duties as assigned.
