Tax Senior Manager- Real Estate


We have openings in Akron, OH, Cleveland, OH, Youngstown, OH, Chicago, IL, Pittsburgh, PA, and Philadelphia, PA.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall client experiences including deadline management/client expectations
  • Calculate tax effects of transactions, conduct technical tax research, and manage tax partner expectations
  • Handle billing/WIP management
  • Operate in adynamic environment, coach staff/seniors/managers,and share your knowledge and experience with the entire team
  • Coordinate multiple engagement teams schedules and deadlines
  • Review the tax returns and manage tax workflow
  • Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Maintaining and developing strong relationships with clients to meet or exceed their expectations
  • Proficiencyin partnership allocations and an understanding of partnership waterfall calculations
  • A practical understanding of tax credits and incentives including 1031 exchanges, 704(b) allocations, 704 (c) allocations, and target capital account allocations
  • Proficiencyin juggling multiple priorities while managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Willingness and ability to learn new concepts with minimal guidance
  • Enthusiasm for coaching and developing team members



Requirements:

  • CPA or JD required
  • 5+ years of progressive experience at a public accounting firm
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong external and internal communication required, due to client facing role and importance of strong partnership with internal engagement teams
  • Understanding of Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe, etc. Required
  • Strong understanding of CCH Axcess required
  • Initiative to learn, ask questions, operate in a fast-paced environment, challenge the status quo
  • Develop strong relationships internally, and flexibility are required and keys to success
  • Experience assisting clients with life events for partnerships, inside and outside basis computations, section 704(c) and section 743(b) computations, and Schedule K-1 processing
  • Experience advising clients on a variety of tax issues, including impact of Tax Reform on passthroughs and other Real Estate clients, business restructuring, and tax controversy
  • Solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills, including partnership taxation, operating agreement interpretation, waterfall calculations, targeted capital account calculations, debt allocations, tax compliance, due diligence, acquisition/disposition planning and structuring, and experience with federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research
