Job Overview: Assist Restaurant Staff with guest service needs. The Cashier will be responsible for cash and credit card transactions. Will be responsible for picking up phone and taking orders and communicating all relevant information to Restaurant Staff.
Reports To: Restaurant Manager, Assistant General Manager, General Manager
Key Relationships:
Internal: Restaurant Staff, Bar Staff, Kitchen Staff
External: Restaurant guests and vendors
Qualifications/Skills:
Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and /or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently with or without reasonable accommodation.
Essential:
1. Strong written and oral English communication skills.
2. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperation, and work with a minimum of supervision.
3. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
4. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
5. Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once.
6. Ability to be well organized, maintain concentration, and think clearly while providing service to many guests at any given time.
7. Two years experience in customer service, preferably food and beverage.
8. Punctuality; regular and reliable attendance.
9. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.

11. Polished telephone etiquette skills
12. Ability to prioritize in accordance with company standards.
Desirable:

Essential Physical Abilities:
· Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, bending and stooping.

Essential Job Functions:
· Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all policies and service procedures
· Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant.
· Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment, and use equipment only as intended.
· Maintain knowledge of reservation processes, along with accepting reservations and requests for take-out orders.
· Complete all opening and closing side duties as assigned.
· Organize assigned stations and ensure readiness prior to guest arrival.
· Monitor and anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests even when busy.
· Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
· Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station.
· Assist rest of restaurant staff if directed by shift supervisor.
· Maintain complete knowledge of all menus
· Maintain positive guest relations. Be familiar with all services/features, and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
· Promote a work environment conducive to teamwork.
· Answer customers' questions, and provide information on procedures or policies.
· Bag, box, wrap, or gift-wrap merchandise, and prepare packages for shipment.
· Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
· Record total number of transactions and calculate total payments received during shift, and reconcile this with total sales.
· Establish or identify prices of goods, services or admission, and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.
· Greet customers entering establishments.
· Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
· Offer customers carry-out service at the completion of transactions.
· Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
· Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins.
· Know where the priority list of attending internal and external needs (guests, phones, colleagues) is located
Secondary Job Functions:
· Assist other restaurant employees with duties as needed.
· Attend and participate in meetings, training schedules, menu and beverage tastings as scheduled.
