Position Summary:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of skilled, duties involving the inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, modification, maintenance, repair and servicing of components, facilities and machinery associated with the operation of the medical facilities.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform all tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and Air conditioning) and preventative maintenance.
- Responsible for keeping tools and materials in good condition and in the proper location.
- Responsible for taking necessary precautions when handling hand/power tools and equipment.
- Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations and Safety/Risk Management Plans, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain various logs including, but not limited to generator inspection, fire extinguisher inspection, utilities equipment, work orders, temperatures, fire alarms.
- Assist in assuring a safe and risk preventative environment.
- Use time constructively and in an organized manner.
- Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.
- Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance, and punctuality.
- Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.
- Addresses patients, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner.
- Disaster operations assistance when deemed necessary.
- Communicates with Senior Maintenance Technician and Facility Director for areas of concern and/or updating needs.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must have and maintain a clean driving record. This position will be responsible for driving a company vehicle.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license. Must have a satisfactory driving record maintained throughout employment.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time (50% of the time). Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work, to work around machines, to climb and descend ladders, to operate a variety of tools and equipment, and to operate a motor vehicle; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and to distinguish colors in wiring; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. Frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, and to operate tools and equipment. Incumbents in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect work sites. Incumbents must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or proper equipment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Core business hours are 8am-5pm, however this position may be assigned an on-call and irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime as approved in advance. This position requires regular and reliable on-site attendance.
Travel:
This position requires travel between clinic locations and to local businesses.
Work Environment:
Employees work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels. May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions. Exposure to chemicals, mechanical and electrical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes. The employee will interact with individuals in interpreting and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures.
