Activities Coordinator

(Life Enrichment Coordinator)

**Pay Rate up to $22/hour**

Responsibilities of a Life Enrichment Coordinator:

  • Learn and embrace all elements of the corporate philosophy - LIFE Illustrated and incorporate the standards into daily working practices. Support and participate in regular educational activities and in-service opportunities for staff that promote and expand understanding of the LIFE Illustrated standards.
  • Develop a collaborative relationship with IL community members to plan and coordinate trips, outings, events, programs, and leisure activities for the IL community. When necessary, accompany residents on outings. Occasionally this may include an evening or weekend outing.
  • Build a collaborative relationship with IL Bus Driver and stay in communication regularly regarding observations and needs. Provide back-up bus driving service as needed.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the IL Resident Association's Programming Committee Chair(s), as well as providing support and encouragement to the various IL clubs or groups. Facilitate essential communications, establish appropriate guidelines, and procure materials and/or services from other Brooke Grove departments for all IL clubs or groups.
  • Manage, produce, and distribute the IL Community Calendar, official flyers, invitations, letters, memos, and other communications that keep the resident community informed of Westbrooke Club events and campus activities.
  • Support office operations by helping the Community Services Director to manage the inventory of office supplies and equipment.
  • Open the Clubhouse every morning as outlined in the Opening Procedures. Maintain and update the daily Power Point presentation in the Red Room. Manage the daily mail delivery and the Communications Box. Check Communications Box every morning to collect Work Requests and other resident communications.
  • Collaborate with Director and Community Services Director to maintain Clubhouse aesthetics, including flower procurement and placement.
  • Coordinate and facilitate scheduled events that take place in Westbrooke Clubhouse and community events that occur in other locations on campus, including all Fitness programming.
  • Assist, when necessary, the Community Services Director with processing Work Requests.
  • Provide back-up support to the Community Services Director for the installation and support of the Lifeline Emergency Response System (or designated IL Emergency Response amenity) in all IL residences and in the Westbrooke Clubhouse.
  • Participate in regular IL team meetings as requested for the purpose of sharing appropriate feedback to management in order to deliver the best possible program support and service to residents.
  • Contribute employee IL news items, stories, and photos to the editor of Employee Life (the Brooke Grove Retirement Village payday page newsletter).
  • Serve as IL Brooke Grove Facebook administrator.
  • Collaborate with Campus Volunteer Services as needed in order to follow and promote life enriching resident campus volunteer activities. Ensure participation for IL residents is appropriately matched to the individual and enriching to resident's life.
  • Attend all Coffee Talk meetings and assist the Director with notes from these meetings.

Requirements of a Life Enrichment Coordinator:

  • Certificate in Life Enrichment program; or three to six month's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Current CPR preferred.
