- Since 1977, Cataldo Ambulance Service, Inc. has continually distinguished ourselves as a leader in providing routine and emergency medical services. As the needs of the community and the patient change, we continue to introduce innovative programs to ensure the highest level of care is available to everyone in the areas we serve.
- Cataldo is the largest private EMS provider and private ambulance service in Massachusetts. In addition to topping 50,000 emergency medical transportations annually through 911 contacts with multiple cities, we partner with some of Massachusetts top medical facilities to provide non-emergency medical ambulance and wheelchair transportation services. We are also an EMS provider to specialty venues like Fenway Park, Warrior Arena, and TD Garden.
- While Cataldo began as an ambulance service company, we continue to grow through innovation and expand the services we offer to the local communities. As a public health resource, Cataldo offers training and education to the healthcare and emergency medical community through the Cataldo Education Center. This includes certification training for new employees as well as the training needed for career advancement. Through our partnerships with health systems, hospitals, managed care organizations, and others, we continue to provide in-home care through the state’s first and largest Mobile Integrated Health program, SmartCare. We also have delivered more than 1.7 million Covid-19 vaccines and continue to operate testing and vaccination sites throughout the state of Massachusetts.

Job Benefits

Required Skills/Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Auto repair/maintenance experience, with both gas and diesel vehicles is a plus
- Mechanical and technical aptitude
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be a self-starter
- Experience with Ford e250, e350 and e450 trucks with 4.6, 6.0 and motors is a plus
- Experience with emergency vehicles is a plus
- Reports to director of fleet operations or designee
- Subject to call back if needed
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able and willing to take and pass a drug test
- Part time position night and or weekends
- Pay scale based on experience and certifications uniforms provided
- Willing to participate in company required training
Job Summary:
- This hands-on position is responsible for all preventative maintenance & mechanical repairs needed for diesel and gas vehicles. This position based out of Chelsea, MA. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, performing mechanical repairs on company vehicles.
- Performing preventative maintenance in a timely manner to reduce breakdowns and costs
- Updating any and all managers of concerns and potential problems with employees or equipment
