JOB SUMMARY:

The IT Infrastructure Architect plays an important role in organizations as they provide the necessary guidance to ensure the reliability of the technology infrastructure. They ensure all technology systems are maintained and updated to the latest standards, minimizing the risk of system outages, data breaches, and other technical issues. Additionally, they work closely with other IT teams to design and implement effective solutions and are actively involved in long-term IT planning, budget discussions, and technology selection, ensuring that all initiatives align with and support the organization’s broader business goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes.
  • Follow Change Management process to ensure all changes are recorded and managed to certain quality metrics.
  • Ensuring proper communications are going out to the masses as needed for outages, be it expected or unexpected.
  • Designing and implementing IT infrastructure solutions that meet the organization’s business needs.
  • Ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the organization’s IT infrastructure solutions in place.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements through well documented and vetted business cases.
  • Ensuring infrastructure architecture is fully documented. This includes diagrams of underlying infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with other IT professionals, such as software developers and network engineers, to ensure the integration of IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to other IT professionals.
  • Designing and implementing physical and virtual server infrastructures.
  • Developing disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure systems.
  • Implementing and maintaining cloud-based solutions, such as AWS or Azure.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications.

Education, Training, Certifications:

  • High school Diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Information Technology, preferred.

Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:

  • 10 years IT Service Operations, preferred.
  • 5 years Microsoft Server/Azure/Office product lines, preferred.

Communication Skills:

  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.

Systems and Software Skills:

  • Proficient in IT designs, processes, procedures.

Other Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to comply with SFPH’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.
  • Occasional travel required, up to 20%.
