Local Non-Profit Organization / Volunteer CoordinatorPay: $18Hours: Monday - Friday 8-4
The Volunteer Coordinator supervises volunteers and provides direction, coordination, and consultation for all volunteer functions within the program to involve a community of supporters as described in the duties outlined below. This position is responsible for scheduling all routes for delivery and manages the Volunteer Office while working in an unstructured environment with numerous interruptions throughout the day.

Job Duties:

  • Develop, promote, and maintain a volunteer base for the delivery program.
  • Develop, maintain, and reorganize routes to ensure timely delivery.
  • Distribute daily route sheets to volunteers.
  • Survey staff regularly to assess needs for volunteer assistance.
  • Maintain Volunteer Service Descriptions.
  • Conduct and/or arrange for volunteer orientation and training.
  • Schedule all volunteer activity, including tours of facility.
  • Develop and manage volunteer policies, procedures and standards of volunteer services.
  • Assess delivery feedback received through comment forms.
  • Organize and participate in volunteer recognition programs and special events.
  • Evaluate all aspects of program to ensure effectiveness and recommend/implement changes as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation.
  • Recruit, interview and place applicants for volunteer work.
  • Host and attend recruiting events within the community to attract qualified candidates.
  • Work with marketing, PR and professional associations to publicize opportunities for volunteers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other volunteer organizations within the area.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance for volunteers.
  • Act as a single point of contact for volunteers.
  • Confer with volunteers to resolve grievances and promote cooperation and interest.
  • Facilitate distribution of information relevant to volunteers.
  • Work proactively with staff to provide accurate information and assistance to the volunteer.
  • Handle telephone, voicemail, written, and e-mail inquiries for information regarding the delivery program.
  • Run delivery route when cover is needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by director and CEO.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Strong background and experience in customer service.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, and outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
  • Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment.
  • Ability to look at a situation from several points of view.
  • Excellent people manager, open to direction and work styles.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Must have a clean background.
  • Pass a drug screen.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand/sit/walk for extended periods of time.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Current Food Handler's Permit
